Most clients describe thermocoagulation for skin tags as a quick, mild heat or sting lasting a second or two per tag. A 5% lidocaine topical anesthetic and ice keep the treatment comfortable.
A very fine probe delivers controlled radiofrequency energy to the base of each tag. Small tags take only a moment. Sensitive areas such as the eyelids or neck may feel slightly warmer, which is why a topical anesthetic is applied first when appropriate.
The treated area may feel warm for a short time. Tags darken and dry, then fall away on their own over several days to two weeks. Mild redness is normal and settles as the skin heals.
Arrive with clean skin, tell Liza about any medications or sensitivities on your intake form, and follow your aftercare plan. Never pick at treated areas; picking is the most common cause of lasting marks.
