Milia are tiny, hard, white or yellowish bumps of trapped keratin just under the skin's surface. They are most common around the eyes, cheeks and nose, and unlike whiteheads, they cannot be squeezed out.
Each milium is assessed, then treated individually with a very fine thermocoagulation probe or gently released. This allows precise work even on the thin skin around the eyes.

Treated milia usually leave a tiny mark that settles within a few days to a week. Avoid heavy eye creams on treated areas during healing and never pick.
Moles, cysts and suspicious lesions are outside esthetic practice, medical esthetics included. Any spot that is changing, irregular or unusual is referred to a physician or dermatologist before any cosmetic treatment. Where there is any uncertainty, Liza will not treat without written confirmation from your physician that the lesion is benign and suitable.
Liza earned her esthetics college diploma and licence in 2000, while BC’s former Cosmetologists Act was in force; BBB has verified her diploma. Since 2003, no licence has been required to practise esthetics in BC, and “medical esthetician” (or “medical aesthetician”) is not a regulated title. BC regulates the premises instead: Cantik’s studio is inspected every year by Fraser Health.
Diagnosing skin conditions and removing moles or cysts are outside esthetic practice, medical esthetics included. These are referred to a physician or dermatologist.
Liza uses the Silhouet-Tone VascuLyse 2G®, a Health Canada-licensed device. You have the right to ask what device will be used on your skin and whether it is licensed by Health Canada.
Who will perform my treatment? What training do they hold? Is the device licensed by Health Canada? Will you refer anything outside your scope?
Yes, eye-area milia are one of the most common reasons clients visit. The probe is extremely fine, so the delicate skin around the eye can be treated precisely.
Milia are trapped under a thin layer of skin with no opening, so cleansing and squeezing do not release them. They need precise professional removal.
Many can usually be treated in one 60-minute session for $210, depending on how many you have and where they are.
