Book Filiform Wart Removal
A filiform wart is a small, thread-like or finger-like growth, often found on the eyelids, around the eyes, lips, nose or neck. It is caused by a common skin virus and can look similar to a skin tag, which is why each one is assessed carefully before treatment.
Each filiform wart is assessed, then treated at its base with a very fine thermocoagulation probe. Liza only treats lesions that are clearly suitable for cosmetic treatment; where there is any uncertainty, she asks for written confirmation from your physician first.

A tiny crust forms and flakes away within about one to two weeks. Because warts are caused by a virus, they can recur or new ones can appear, so a follow-up may be recommended.
Moles, cysts and suspicious lesions are outside esthetic practice. Any spot that is changing, irregular or unusual is referred to a physician or dermatologist before any cosmetic treatment. Where there is any uncertainty, Liza will not treat without written confirmation from your physician that the lesion is benign and suitable.
Liza earned her esthetics college diploma and licence in 2000, while BC’s former Cosmetologists Act was in force; BBB has verified her diploma. Since 2003, no licence has been required to practise esthetics in BC, and no esthetics title is regulated. BC regulates the premises instead: Cantik’s studio is inspected every year by Fraser Health.
Diagnosing skin conditions and removing moles or cysts are outside esthetic practice. These are referred to a physician or dermatologist.
Liza uses the Silhouet-Tone VascuLyse 2G®, a Health Canada-licensed device. You have the right to ask what device will be used on your skin and whether it is licensed by Health Canada.
Who will perform my treatment? What training do they hold? Is the device licensed by Health Canada? Will you refer anything outside your scope?
They can look alike. Skin tags are soft flaps of skin; filiform warts are firmer, thread-like growths caused by a virus. Your assessment confirms which it is.
They can, because they are caused by a virus. Treated warts often resolve, but new ones may appear over time and may need a follow-up session.
