How to Choose the Right Skin Treatment (It Starts With You)

By Liza James, licensed esthetician since 2000 · Surrey, South Surrey & White Rock
The short answer

The right skin treatment is the one that suits your skin, not the most popular or the most expensive. It starts with your concerns and goals, a professional assessment, and a plan that is confirmed on the day based on how your skin presents.

Trends are not a diagnosis

A treatment that works wonders for one person can irritate another. Social media rarely shows skin type, sensitivity, medications or aftercare, all of which change results.

What a good assessment covers

Your concerns and goals, skin type and sensitivity, health information and medications, previous treatments and realistic expectations. Your intake form and photos sent before a phone consultation let Liza prepare in advance.

Decided on the day

Skin changes with seasons, stress and age. Techniques are confirmed at your appointment, and anything that isn't appropriate or safe is not performed.

Continuity matters

When you book with Liza, the person who assesses your skin is the person who treats it, every visit. That is how progress is tracked and plans are adjusted.

Not sure where to start?
